…Letting Divine Love Flow: Artists in Motion

May 10, 2012

I’ve been painting seriously for a little over a year now.  And when I say seriously, I mean I have been giving it my attention, my intention, and feeling my creative energy expand with every brush stroke, every breath, and pulse of my being.  I am exploring the truth of my Soul’s voice in alignment with the Universal Soul.

I belong to a tribe of women painters living all around the world.  We share our successes and our challenges, we paint together, support one another in our creative dreams and collaborate on projects, teaching classes, and works of intuitive art together.

I am grateful for the opportunity to grow in my painting community, to share my gifts with my sisters in paint, to bloom as an artist and creative soul.

My friend Hali Karla of Lilywheel Slide and I exchanged intentional intuitive paintings for one another.

I began her painting in my favorite way, easel on the grass, trees all around and my favorite mountain watching over. Shoe box full of paint tubes, old honey jar full of water from our wild and sacred well, hummingbirds dancing, sun streaming through the newly unfurled plum and maple leaves. And I could breathe, deeply the scents of sounds of Spring.
Another ritual I prepare is entering the stillness, feeling every cell in my body pulse with the vibration of Deep Divine. I am full of the Creator’s Presence and I paint for my sister, holding her stated intention in my being, along with the larger intention that she receive the Love that the Universe holds for us all. And in this state of creative trust an image is born that carries the Love forever.

And this is my favorite part. All I need to do is listen, and trust, and paint from my soul to hers.

Into the Labyrinth

June 15, 2011

I’ve spent quite a bit of my time in self reflection these days.  And from it has come much treasure.  I know myself better as a woman, as an artist, as a professional mentor and guide.  I have the opportunity to question my assumptions about life, about the way I make my living, the way I express my joys, sorrows, discomforts and creative ideas.  It has been exciting to tell the stories to my self about “Who I am in the World?”  To discover where the meaning lies for me in this portion of my Life journey.

I have stopped pushing myself and started inviting myself.  I am exploring in writing, in storytelling with photos,  coloring the pages of journals and larger canvases that encourage my more expanded view of the “story of me”.

When I focus on how it feels to lay paint on paper, brush to vellum, my heart flows.  When I focus on the beauty I feel when the trees say “show the world  what I behold” in the camera’s eye, I explode.

The self portrait experience has me stepping up to my life as I am in each moment, gently laying down the judgments or fears and letting me be who I truly am. Right now.

I have connected with my self and my own Divinity in a way that has blown the cover off of   “I can’t,”  “I’m not,” and “not good enough.”  My practice as a mentor and guide has more fully become about successfully recognizing and gathering personal power, standing in the world as your truest expression of self and knowing the power in that stance.  Living the power of that stance.  The alchemy is real  and the Labyrinth awaits!

Truly enjoying this dance of creative heart expansion, opening to the limitless Universe of opportunity.

Unfolding Ancient Divine

June 1, 2011

I have strong heart strings to my home in the Mountains.

There is Magic and Ancient Wisdom in every being, unfolding, telling the stories of the Wise and Wild Earth.

I am honored to be a keeper of this Magic.

The Dreaming Self

May 11, 2011

I just concluded a self portrait e-class with Vivienne McMaster.  She’s a sweet sister living in British Columbia.  Her soft gentle voice and heart expanding image making were the perfect guides for my first explorations with turning the camera on myself.

I’ve wanted to tell the story of how I saw the world for quite a while….but never knew the power that could be accessed when you put your own image into the story.  So I’ve been “dipping my toes in” as Vivienne likes to put it, and embarking on the storytelling journey.

These here  are a few favorite snapshots, just little peeks into a much larger view that is unfolding before me in my multimedia adventure as artist and authentic dreaming woman.

Painting BIG is Living BIG

May 11, 2011

For the past 6 weeks I have been on a FEARLESS Painting Adventure with Connie Hozvicka of DirtyFootPrints Studio.  She calls it BIG…and for good reason.

When you dive into the flow of your creative heart — BIG things happen.  They did for me.

I began to trust myself more as an artist.  I let myself pick a up a brush and paint.  By allowing myself to dance with the flow of all that  is within me, what emerged was my voice in color and shape, along with my trust in the process of intuitive art making.

Painting BIG is living BIG.

I am loosening up and allowing more of my true self to shine through.  And….painting is fun!  Juicy colors and flowing brush strokes bring out the playful being in me.  And this playful being is showing me how to live more in Joy.

My word for now is Authenticity.  And the sweetness it brings to my life is beyond words.

Here are a few explorations in my painting journey.  More to come.  I’m just getting started.

Painting without the mind interfering and telling you that you don’t know how to paint has been a liberating experience for me.

My heart knows plenty about beauty making.  And I’m just gonna keep on painting and photo making  and writing and singing and loving, NO MATTER WHAT!

Pearls for Angela

April 7, 2011

Another sweet meditation in creating jewelry.  Diving into the treasure chest of beads and findings to create something new and subtle and fresh.  Just like my friend Angie.

The elements used here are:  shape, random, texture, contrast, and metallic color mixing.

Brass and Copper colored wires, white and grey pearls, quartz and copper lined glass beads.

I am finding that I enjoy more doing the custom pieces for people, in order to create a design that is fitting for them.
